As the racing season rolls into the end of the summer multiple series are heating up with large purse races all over the northeast. One series being the Monaco Modified Tri Track Series. CheckerWon Motorsports made the trip up to Connecticut's Waterford Speedbowl for the Tri-Track's Belltwon Motors/ Flower's Auto Wrecking 100. AP3 was in the office for what would be only his 2nd race of the 2024 season. This would be Artie's 1st time visiting the Speedbowl in a tour-type modified. The CW team had their work cut out for them in the 31 car all-star field. Pedersen ended up starting the feature 25th out of 31 cars. Slowly and patiently Pedersen worked his way all the way up to the 15th position within the 1st 55 lap green flag run. Unfortunately, their pit stop did not better their performance as Artie struggled with the balance after pitting, also and oil line failure very late in the race took them out of the race with only 5 laps to go. Pedersen would end up 21st on the final scorecard. Not exactly the finish they had hoped for Pedersen was still optimistic and happy with the day. Pedersen quoted
"We had a solid car by the time we started the feature, that first green flag run proved it. 100% my call on the pitstop and it was not the right call, it hurt the balance. There were a few things for sure I think we could have done to still get the car back to where we were at halfway, but everything is happening so fast usually you realize what you could have done better after the fact. Still, I always shoot for top 10's when we travel to a Tri-track event, there isn't a bad car in these fields when we race with this series. And I really do think if the pitstop kept the car at the same pace or got us a little better today I do think we had a top 15/ top 10 finish coming our way. But all in all, 2nd time out this year, just trying to enjoy when we do go racing, we all had fun, we were competitive, and we know what to do better for the next time around... sometimes that's all you can ask for. We have a clean racecar; a chunk of notes and I plan to come back in October here when the MRS series comes back to run their show here."
AP3's next anticipated race will be Oct 12th again with the Tri-Track series at the Thompson Motorsports Park for the World Series of Asphalt weekend.
